Hi everyone, I hope life is treating you fairly.
I studied religious studies major and media communications minor at university which I started at 22. I hoped to be a religious broadcaster after. Life didn't follow that straight path immediately. I am glad that in recent years though I have got to use my studies and love of my faith to shine light for my father with no expectation of reward, but to help and support others and am doing what is expected freely and with love. I mentioned as well that I went onto do further study which has also been useful to create this blog.
When I studied my course which was free pretty much and today a 3 year course would cost £30K in the UK. Not everybody today wants to take that chance with some areas with limited availability. It was a blessing for me to receive my education for free.
There are several jobs you can do to work serving your faith. You can be a religious studies teacher/lecturer, pastoral visitor at hospital and community/hospital Chaplain volunteer and hospital chaplain. You can also be a minister of faith and evangelist online and on the street. You can also be a juetice activist. You can also be a media broadcaster/journalist and social media broadcaster. You can also work as a faith based actor in conflict resolution in a NGO. You can also work in administration in the church doing voluntary like watering the garden and welcoming people to the church. You can also play music for your church and sing in the choir. You can also do charity work. The list goes on for this.
You can also use the attributes of God to serve in a caring role like nursing, doctor, social worker environmentalist and entertainer etc.
Aside from this-I must say much to my surprise as I do not see myself like this and am not, but am writing about my experiences and am a parishioner today under God's grace happy to water my father's garden at church and be a jack of all trades.
Recently the gifts of the Holy Spirit tape was played to me which the gift I have-which was given to me primarily by God to protect me which is prophecy which was confirmed and given to me at 17. The soundtrack to one said that I was a junior prophet. I laughed at hearing this as I was 17 then and I am 52 to now and it was still the same which I loved, as I love vintage to. I served in the ministry in the church to using this very briefly.
Now, someone aspiring in this with God's grace could accelerate up the ranks with God's grace as a child of God and could have something inspiring to aim for. In a broken world it may help some. I am not in the business of aspiring up the ranks and a junior more than works well for me and my spirit deals with these things and not me and I go about living my everyday life.
So perhaps the ranks, work hard and keep watering the garden to reach may be a senior apostle. It is Jesus who appoints all these roles in the church... (1 Corinthians 12 27-28)-"Now ye are the Body of Christ, and members in particular and God have first set some in the church, first apostles."
I wish you all well, my nephew Ellis when he was little is in the photo at the top. Go for it Ellis in life. Baton handed.
